Tea Appreciation Workshop in Singapore

Dive deep into Singapore's tea heritage with EXO's new Tea Appreciation Workshop.

EXO Singapore loves showcasing the city’s rich heritage and culture to our guests. That’s why Ilaria Coco, Product Manager, is especially excited about the new Tea Appreciation Workshop.

Through this engaging experience,  guests gain a deeper understanding of tea traditions, history and philosophy.

‘This is the perfect addition to a Singapore city tour. It’s a chance to take a break from sightseeing and experience something traditional’, Ilaria explains.

In the mid-morning or mid-afternoon, guests will visit a shophouse in Singapore’s Chinatown to start the tea experience.

The shophouse has been carefully renovated to retain its traditional style and design, with a beautiful old wooden staircase leading upstairs to the tea tasting room.

‘It’s incredible how the same pot of tea can smell and taste different from the first sip to the second to the third.’

Once inside, guests will be invited to sit on the floor around an antique wooden table to begin learning the ancient art of tea appreciation.

The host will share an insightful introduction to tea history before leading guests through a tasting session of three teas accompanied by light snacks.

During the tasting, the host will provide guidance on how to engage the senses in order to appreciate each tea’s distinctive flavour profile.

‘I learned so much during this experience and now I understand how to truly enjoy tea!,’ Ilaria remarked.

‘The host explained how to properly warm up a cup before pouring the tea and how to use our sense of smell to appreciate the full flavour.  It’s incredible how the same pot of tea can smell and taste different from the first sip to the second to the third.’

No trip to Singapore would be complete without drinking tea!  EXO’s new Tea Appreciation Workshop takes it to another level, diving deep into tea traditions, history and philosophy.

WHY EXO LOVES IT?

‘This is the perfect addition to a Singapore city tour. It’s a chance to take a break from sightseeing and experience something traditional’
